2020 Dodge Durango
The Dodge Durango is a three-row, full-size crossover SUV that's great as a family hauler or a workhorse. Now, with the 2020 models coming out, fans are curious about what to expect. Explore the new 2020 Dodge Durango and find out what you'll get from its trims, power and performance, interior cabin design, and safety features.
Trim Levels
Five different trim levels are available for the new 2020 Dodge Durango. The base trim is the SXT, with the GT adding midrange conveniences. The Citadel offers luxury features, while the R/T is a performance trim with a more powerful engine. The SRT is the high-end maximum performance trim.
In terms of looks, the Durango is a beefy vehicle that has a truck-like look, albeit a sporty one with smooth and aerodynamic lines. The GT and R/T levels take an aggressive stance, with lower ride height and 20-inch wheels. Available body colors include White Knuckle, Octane Red, Granite Metallic, Diamond Black, Billet Metallic, Violet, and Vice White.
Engine
At the base SXT trim, you'll get a V-6 3.6-liter engine that gives you 295 horsepower and makes 260 pound-feet in torque. The R/T upgrades this to a 5.7-liter V-8 engine rated at 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet. At the top end is the SRT, with its V-8 engine at 6.4 liters delivering a powerful 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Whichever level you choose, you'll have plenty of power to get where you need to go, even in the harshest conditions.
Performance
Even at the base level, the Durango offers impressive performance, with a load-leveling rear suspension and 6,200 pounds of towing capacity. Stepping up to the R/T nets you a maximum towing capacity of 7,400 pounds with low-range gearing and optional all-wheel-drive system. Finally, the performance-oriented SRT gives you features like Brembo brakes, electronic limited-slip differential, high-tuned suspension, and the ability to tow up to 8,700 pounds, which is more than some pickup trucks on the market.
Interior
If comfort and luxury are your thing, you'll definitely want to opt for the Citadel level. It features combination leather and vinyl upholstery on the front-row and second-row seats, ups your touch screen to 8.4 inches, and kicks up your stereo system to nine speakers with a subwoofer. All levels have a superior cabin design, however, with features like leather-wrapped steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, optional captain's chairs in the second row, full leather and simulated suede upholstery, heated and cooled seats, and many other luxurious comfort and convenience features.
Safety Features
Most active intelligent safety features are optional for the new Durango. These include blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alerts, adaptive cruise control, lane departure and lane-keeping features, frontal crash warning and mitigation, and others. Many such advanced driver aids come standard starting at the Citadel trim level and up. As with most vehicles, the higher trim level you choose, the more active intelligent safety features you will unlock.
