2022 Ram 2500

The 2022 Ram 2500 is a full-size pickup truck that comes in seven trim levels. These are the Tradesman, Big Horn, Lone Star, Power Wagon, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited. From the outside, the base Tradesman trim shows off 17-inch steel wheels, manually adjustable side mirrors, and a class V receiver hitch with a seven-pin wiring harness. Both the Big Horn and Lone Star trims include heated side mirrors, a trailer brake controller, and larger chrome wheels. If you want your truck to stand out, consider the Laramie trim with its unique styling accents, power-folding mirrors, and LED fog lights. The Power Wagon trim is designed for off-roading and adventures. It includes powder-coated bumpers, underbody skid plates, black fender flares, and a disconnecting front stabilizer bar. The Limited Longhorn trim tacks on a spray-in bedliner, LED in-bed lighting, and rain-sensing wipers, while the top Limited trim has power running boards and 20-inch wheels. The RamBox in-bed storage system is available on most trims.

Across the board, the standard engine is a 6.4-liter V-8 unit rated at 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. Ram offers an upgraded 6.7-liter turbodiesel V-6 engine as an option on all trims. The main version of this engine produces 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque. A specially tuned version is also available, which makes 420 horsepower and 1,075 pound-feet of torque. Regardless of the engine you choose, your Ram 2500 will come with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Rear-wheel drive is the standard configuration on all trim levels except the Power Wagon, which comes with Ram's four-wheel-drive system. Four-wheel drive is an optional upgrade on the other trims as well. The four-wheel-drive system on the Power Wagon trim also includes off-road performance suspension tuning and a manual-shift transfer case to boost performance on the trails and rough terrain. When properly equipped, this truck can tow up to 15,040 pounds and carry up to 7,414 pounds.

Climb into the cabin of the Tradesman trim to find vinyl upholstery, a manual climate control system, and an adjustable steering wheel. Additional features include a six-speaker audio system with a 5-inch touch screen and dual USB ports. With the next two trims, upgrades include an 8.4-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, and cloth upholstery. The Laramie trim adds a nine-speaker sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, and power-adjustable pedals. The Power Wagon shares most of these features, while the Limited Longhorn adds premium upholstery, navigation, ventilated front seats, and ambient interior lighting. At the top of the list, the Limited trim comes with wireless device charging and a 12-inch touch screen.

Every trim level of the 2022 Ram 2500 includes anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, air bags throughout the cabin, and a rearview camera. The higher trims are available with options like parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure mitigation, forward-collision mitigation, and a digital rearview mirror.
