2023 Wagoneer
Named the best large SUV by U.S. News and World Report, the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer has just about something for everyone. Its high-end cabin is adorned with a long list of standard technology features, and its spacious cabin lets everyone ride comfortably. Few class rivals offer the amount of passenger space and have a towing capacity as impressive as the Wagoneer.
Trim Levels
New for the 2023 models is the addition of the Wagoneer L, which is 12 inches longer and has a 7-inch longer wheelbase than the standard model. As a result, the Wagoneer is available in six trims: Series I, Series II, Series III, L Series I, L Series II, and L Series III. The automaker took into account the vehicle's weight by fashioning the SUV's hood and doors out of aluminum and using composite materials for the tailgate. The SUV comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, and a hands-free liftgate, while upper trims add 20-inch wheels and a panoramic sunroof.
Engine
You can't go wrong with either engine found with the 2023 Wagoneer. The base 5.7-liter V-8 engine is paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that produces 392 horsepower and 404 pound-feet of torque. The available engine is a brand-new option for the 2023 models. This twin-turbo inline-six produces a massive 420 horsepower and 486 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are paired with a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
You might not expect a vehicle of this size to achieve solid gas mileage, but the 2023 Wagoneer achieves strong numbers. Expect to get an EPA-estimated 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway with the base engine and rear-wheel drive. Models with this engine and four-wheel drive get 15 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.
Just like other Jeep vehicles, the Wagoneer can tackle just about any type of terrain. Its two-speed transfer case and selectable drive modes make driving a breeze. The SUV also boasts the best towing capacity of any other vehicles in its class at 10,000 pounds.
Interior
With room enough for eight travelers, the Wagoneer boasts a handsome and well-appointed cabin adorned with high-quality materials. Its vast cargo area stretches to 116.7 cubic feet of space when you fold down the second- and third-row seats, while the Wagoneer L has a maximum of 130.9 cubic feet of space.
You can access the vehicle's infotainment system via the standard 10.1-inch touchscreen display. To help you stay connected, the SUV has a Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, eight USB ports, Amazon Alexa, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Available technology add-ons include a 10.3-inch front passenger touchscreen display, wireless smartphone charging, and a rear-seat entertainment system connected to Amazon Fire TV.
Safety Features
Every 2023 Jeep Wagoneer is equipped with a handful of driver-assistance features to keep you and your travelers safe. Some of these key features include front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and forward automatic emergency braking. The Wagoneer has just as many available add-on safety features, some of which include a surround-view parking camera system, side parking sensors, driver-attention monitoring, and automatic high-beam headlights.
